From the Editor's Corner:

To all the crafters, artists, artisans, promoters, and shoppers, welcome to michigancraftshows.com.   I can't believe August is here already.   The Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival, Allen Park Street Fair, and the Sterling Heights Sterlingfest are coming up this weekend.

I will be sending out a newsletter shortly.  Social Media is becoming very important in everything related to relationships, business and personal.  I'll be asking you to join my Professional Network and our new Michigan Arts and Crafts Group on LinkedIn.

Late this spring, I found out an old friend was still with us.    Bob "Gramps" Steffenhagen has been one of my good friends and mentors for 20 years.   I sat down and had a chat with him, one of his daughters, and son-in law.  Click on his picture to read the interview.

Over the past sixteen years, I have met many great people in this business.  They are the among the most hard working, independent, and artistically talented people in this great country has to offer.   Let's get out there again.  Sell American, buy American, and create American jobs, starting with your own!   See you down the road somewhere!   I hope you are having a happy and prosperous Craft Show season in 2010!

See you down the road somewhere!

George

Newsletters and Releases:  Approximately once a month I e-mail a newsletter to my past, present, future customers.   For ten years, staying in touch with my thousands of customers was one of my unanswered questions.  I stumbled across an e-mail service during the winter of last year.   In the newsletter includes the products and services I am offering to my customers, and ideas that you can possibly use to increase the cash flow into your business.  My business strategy always has been the following.  If I can help my customers make more money, it is much easier for them to buy my products and services.

Order the Michigan Crafter Magazine:  Since February of 1994 I have published and sold The Michigan Crafter Magazine.  This is the most comprehensive book on Michigan Craft Shows, Fairs, and Events you are going to find for Michigan.   I started publishing Midwestern Crafter Magazine several years later.  You can order either or both books by clicking on this page.  You can either click on the Paypal button, call me with a credit card number, or print out the form and mail a check to the address provided.

I hope you are enjoying your stay at michigancraftshows.com!  Visit often!

My message is the same.  We still have to keep focused on the horizon.  Where do we want to go, and how are we going to get there, despite these economic times is really up to us.  We can either look at it like we are walking off the end of the plank to an uncertain future, or we can envision the great opportunities that await us just beyond the horizon.   To get to those opportunities however, you must have the courage to jump in and head that way.
