Welcome to Michigan Craft Shows, Art Fairs,
Festivals, and Events LinkedIn Group
Thank you for joining our Linked in group Michigan Craft Shows, Art Fairs, Festivals and Events. For sixteen and a half years, I have published The Michigan Crafter Magazine. My biggest obstacle during this time was staying in touch with all of you as much as I wanted to. I believe LinkedIn has solved this problem for me.
There are two other issues we have to address. The first issue is how I can help you.
What information can I provide that will make it easier for you to sell Arts and Crafts?
The second issue is communication. The LinkedIn website as well as the other social media has taken communication to a whole new level. Technology however, has to be utilized if we are to reach our full potential.
As a starting point, if you feel it is of value, please send me the following:
- A picture of yourself
- A picture of work in progress
- Pictures of your finished items (start with 3).
- A brief biography of how you became interested in crafts
- A list of what shows you did so far this year and your comments on them
- Your show schedule for the rest of the year.
My goals right now are:
- To find out what information you need as Arts & Crafts Vendors to make your job better. If you make more money, it is makes more sense to buy my publication and other services.
- To create and maintain a Directory of Arts and Crafts Vendors, show schedules, and pictures of what all of you sell.
- To start and maintain a dialogue between myself and my customers in the Arts & Crafts Business and beyond to share information.
- As I become more proficient at LinkedIn, to give you tips on how to utilize it better.
- To give you tips on the small business culture. Today, eighty percent of the new jobs are being created by companies who have twenty employees or less. Fifty percent of the new jobs are being created by companies who have five employees or less. As owners of small businesses, our prosperity is critical to the future of this country.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please e-mail me back.
See you down the road somewhere!
George
